As public university bodies, university libraries are subject to the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information (CQLR c. A2-1, hereinafter referred to as the "Act "). All personal information, whether nominative or qualitative, is protected by law.
In order to carry out their teaching and research mission, Quebec university libraries (hereinafter referred to as "BUQ") collect certain personal information, such as:
• Last name First Name
• Email Address
• Personal address
• Personal phone number
• Bar code
• Notes written by library staff
• History of your transactions in the system
This data is kept on secure platforms for up to three (3) years after your subscription expires. They are accessible to members of BUQ staff as part of their duties. Employees with access to personal data are bound by a confidentiality agreement. By subscribing to and using the services of university libraries, you consent to some of your personal information mentioned above being collected, used and stored. small>
