L’année 2019 signifie pour moi la fin d’un chapitre important dans ma vie — un mandat de dix ans à titre de médecin-chef à l’Hôpital Montfort. Je suis honoré que la Fondation ait établi, avec ma participation, un fonds de bourse en mon nom.

Dorénavant, par l’entremise de la Bourse d’études du Dr Guy-Moreau, la Fondation remettra chaque année un montant de 5 000 $ à un étudiant en médecine qui excelle dans sa discipline. En plus de se démarquer par son rendement académique, le récipiendaire saura perpétuer les valeurs qui me sont chères en faisant preuve d’humanisme, en adoptant une approche chaleureuse et bienveillante envers les patients et en entretenant des relations respectueuses avec ses collègues.

Votre contribution à la création de ce nouveau fonds de bourse aura un impact direct et immédiat sur les soins aux patients puisqu’elle aidera l’Hôpital Montfort à former la relève des professionnels de la santé — une partie intégrante de son mandat à titre d’hôpital universitaire, un élément indispensable à la prestation de soins exemplaires et une composante essentielle à la pérennité de notre système de santé.

For me, 2019 marks the end of an important chapter in my life—a ten-year mandate as chief of staff at Hôpital Montfort. I am honoured that the Foundation has created, with my involvement, a scholarship fund in my name.

From now on, through the Dr. Guy Moreau Scholarship, the Foundation will award $5,000 each year to a medical student who excels in his discipline. In addition to distinguishing himself by his academic performance, the recipient will perpetuate the values I hold most dear by demonstrating humanism, adopting a warm and caring approach towards patients and maintaining respectful relationships with colleagues.

Your contribution to the creation of this new scholarship fund will have a direct and immediate impact on patient care by helping Montfort train the next generation of health professionals—an integral part of its mandate as a teaching hospital, crucial to the provision of exemplary care and essential to the sustainability of our health care system.
