Schedule of the Day
A DAY OF DANCE AND CONNECTION
On April 18, 2026, the Dance-a-thon will unfold across the rehearsal studios used by Les Grands Ballets’ dancers, within Les Studios GB, and in the Studio-Theatre of Les Grands Ballets—the company’s private performance venue. It offers a unique opportunity to step behind the scenes and experience a day in the life of a professional dancer.
Accessible to all levels, the event offers a structured and welcoming environment, allowing everyone to immerse themselves fully—whether discovering dance for the first time or continuing a long-standing practice.
At registration, participants may choose between two paths: the Discovery Path and the Challenge Path. Each features a program of four one-hour sessions designed to provide a stimulating experience throughout the day. Both paths run in parallel.
EVENT SCHEDULE
9:00 a.m. – Welcome and group warm-up
The day begins with participant check-in followed by a collective warm-up, easing into movement together and sharing a first dance moment.
10:10 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. – Morning workshops
Participants attend classes within the path chosen at registration.
- Discovery Path (no dance experience required): An accessible pathway designed to explore various dance styles or strengthen foundational skills.
- Challenge Path (prior dance experience required): A more intensive pathway for participants wishing to deepen their practice and push themselves further. The morning focuses on technique classes (ballet, contemporary, or jazz), followed in the afternoon by repertoire workshops and a short public performance.
12:20 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. – Lunch break
Lunch is provided for all participants. This pause offers time to rest, connect, and share a convivial moment. Booths and demonstrations will also be available during this period.
1:40 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. – Afternoon workshops
The afternoon continues with scheduled workshops in each of the two paths. For Challenge Path participants, rehearsals will prepare them for a short public performance.
5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Showcase
Doors open to the public at 4:00 p.m. During this time, Challenge Path participants will take part in a dress rehearsal.
5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Closing ceremony and reception
The day concludes with remarks and testimonials, accompanied by snacks and beverages. The final fundraising total will be announced, and prizes will be awarded to top individual participants and teams in recognition of their commitment and engagement.
6:30 p.m. – End of event
