Though I am unable to participate in the walk this year due to another commitment on the same day, I have decided to register and do my part to raise funds! Help me reach my fundraising goal of $2,000.
My father, Maurice, has been sick for the past 6.5 years. September will mark 3 years since his diagnosis with ALS.
Not sure what ALS is? It stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a.k.a Lou Gehrig's disease. It is a terminal illness that currently has no cure. Over time it paralyzes the patient as the brain is no longer able to communicate with the muscles of the body. So eventually: the person is no longer able to move, unable to speak, and is basically a prisoner in his/her own body.
Sound horrible? It is.
Thanks to the support of people like you, ALS Quebec is able to offer services and programs to families at every stage of the disease. You will also help us support research, in the hopes of finding a treatment.
Thank you for your support!
