Algonquin College inaugurates La Tablée’s Solidarity Kitchens - Next Generation 2025 edition

On February 24, 2025, Algonquin College launched its production of this year’s vegetarian chili. The school was also the first school in Canada to produce this year, effectively inaugurating La Tablée des Chefs’ 22nd edition of its Solidarity Kitchens - Next Generation (SKNG) program.
Students dedicated their time over their reading break to produce an impressive amount of portions (close to 2,000) to be distributed to frontline organizations feeding people in need, notably Shepherds of Good Hope and the Ottawa Food Bank. As well as bringing relief to food banks locally, it raises awareness among the next generation of chefs of the importance of fighting food insecurity and how they can get involved.
